Re: GameSpot's UT2K4 vs Battlefield Vietnam

OK, here's my $0.02. Take it as you will. Smiling

Personally, I could never get into Unreal Tournament. To me, each installment was exactly like the one before, but with etter graphics and different looking weapons. Note, I say "looking." I don't see any major differences between all the releases of UT, including latest, UT2004. I feel the futuristic armor/weapons/environments theme has been totally played-out in first person shooters. I need more!!

Battlefield Vietnam and it's popular sibling Battlefield 1942 take gaming into the real world. The weapons, the physics, the vehicles, and environments are all based on real life. This adds a whole new level of immersion to the game player - which I thrive on.

For me, the winner is Battlefield Vietnam - hands down.

Re: GameSpot's UT2K4 vs Battlefield Vietnam

My opinion is a little different but since I just picked Battlefield Vietnam yesterday and played it for an hour or so I can't make a real determination yet. But so far I think I like Unreal Tournament 2004 better. I'm a Deathmatch junky and love arena style matches. The original Unreal Tournament was a favorite between me and the Bro. Assault and Onslaught are pretty cool but I still like capture the flag more than anything.

My opinion might change over the next couple days or so.
