nVidia Announces Monthly Driver Updates

I had to read this twice when I saw it the first time. nVidia recently announced plans to release new versions of their ForceWare driver packages on a monthly basis instead of the current random releases few people notice unless they check their web site frequently. Here's the schedule they've announced:

New nVidia Detonator Drivers v43.45

nVidia released another series in the Detonator drivers for TNT and GeForce-series cards. The new drivers are v43.45 and support all nVidia cards. You can download the new drivers at nVidia's site.

New nVidia Detonator Drivers v41.09

Once again, it's driver upgrade time! nVidia has released another update to their Detonator driver series.

The new drivers are v41.09 and promise improved performance all around, but especially the new FX chipset.

Let all of us MG know how they work out for you. You can download the new drivers from nVidia's web site.

DirectX 9.0

Microsoft DirectX is a group of technologies designed to make Windows-based computers an ideal platform for running and displaying applications rich in multimedia elements such as full-color graphics, video, 3D animation, and rich audio. DirectX 9.0 includes security and performance updates, along with many new features across all technologies, which can be accessed by applications using the DirectX 9.0 APIs.

New nVidia Detonator 4 BETA Drivers (v40.41)

  • Up to a 25% increase in performance
  • nView™ 2.0 multi-display technology increases productivity and provides the necessary tools to control the way users access and view applications.
  • NVRotate™ enabling image rotation on today’s advanced flat panel displays.
  • NVKeystone™ allows for real-time image correction on portable projectors and heads-up displays.
  • Digital Vibrance Control™ allows users to adjust color controls to achieve accurate, bright colors under all conditions.

New nVidia Detonator 4 Drivers (v30.82)

nVidia recently released Version 30.82 of their Detonator 4 drivers. Detonator 4, you say? We expect that the Detonator 5 drivers will be out in the next release.

From their release notes:

  • Improved SPEC Viewperf performance for Quadro GPUs
  • NVIDIA’s patented Unified Driver Architecture (UDA) – supports all products in single a driver binary
  • WHQL Certified
  • Full Acceleration and support for the GeForce4 and Quadro4 families

New nVidia Detonator 4 Drivers (v29.42)

If you haven't upgraded to a 29.xx release yet, we strongly recommend it. nVidia has added many enhancements and features in the later driver sets. For example, nView adds virtual desktop support. Their new systray icon allows for adjusting your video settings by a couple clicks of the mouse, and more!

New RELEASE nVidia Detonator 4 Drivers (v28.32)

nVidia finally released the latest Detonator 4 drivers. These are version v28.32. All we have to say is - it's about time! Smiling You can download the drivers directly from nVidia at their website.

And yet another Detonator driver... (v27.70)

Yes, here it is boys and girls, your "weekly" detonator driver. This one seems a little more promising as it addresses refresh issues.

I haven't tried them yet as I'm at work, but I've run det's from this site, and I just got them.

New BETA nVidia Detonator 4 Drivers (v27.50/v27.51)

Once again, we got the latest beta/leaked nVidia Detonator 4 drivers. These are v27.50 for Win9x/ME and v27.51 for Win2k/XP. I've seen some great improvements in framerate using the last few releases of these drivers. The new virtual desktop support and eyecandy these bring to the Windows interface is a must see.

Download them in our [download removed] of the site.
